Close registration at a set date

Updated October 5, 2026

Stop a page’s registrations at a date and time you choose, read in the event’s time zone.

What it’s for

To stop sign-ups ahead of the event (the evening before, say, to print badges or settle the catering numbers), set a close date. The page stops taking registrations at that minute on its own.

  1. Open your page in the builder, on step 4 · Settings, and turn on “Registration close date”, under the registration limit. Venue proposes a date and a time, read in the event’s time zone, which is named beside them.

  2. Change the date or the time to the moment registration should close. New registrations stop at that minute.

  3. Until then, the form shows a line under its button in the page’s own language, here “Registration open until”, then the date.

  4. To keep that line off the page, select the registration form on step 3 · Design and turn off “Show the closing date” in its properties.

  5. From the date on, the form gives way to a card that says registration is closed and names the date it closed.

Good to know

  • The first date offered is 6:00 PM on the eve of the page’s last session, or tomorrow at 6:00 PM when no session is ahead or that evening has passed, so turning the option on never closes the page by itself.
  • A date already past closes registration on a published page at once, and the field says so. Move the date later, or turn the option off, to lift it.
  • One date covers the whole page: a page with several sessions closes for all of them at once.
  • Turning off “Show the closing date” hides only the “open until” line: the card shown once registration has closed still names the date.
  • Work begun before the date still finishes after it: you can approve pending requests and promote people from the waiting list, and a payment started in time goes through.
  • Nothing is sent at the close date: no “registration closes soon” email to visitors, and no notice to you.
  • In a hub, the card of a page past its date no longer opens the form: it links to the page, which says registration has closed.
  • The “Registration deadline” variable, under “Insert variable”, writes the date into your page’s text, worded like the “open until” line. It is empty while the page has no close date, and campaign emails do not offer it.
  • On an in-person page you can still add someone yourself after the date: see “Add a registrant by hand”.
